What Lies Beneath- art journal doodles

What Lies Beneath art journal page
What Lies Beneath

It’s funny. I had been thinking about making a doodle cut out for another page in my journal, but my ideas just wouldn’t come together. The ideas were sound, but didn’t suit the journal page I was working on. So I started doodling overlapping circles for fun on a scrap piece of paper while I tried to work out a new direction for the page.

Then I received rolls of yellow washi tape in the post and suddenly remembered this yellow background I made ages ago. It was the perfect place for some art journal doodles

I love yellow, black and white together.

So I cut out a pattern from my doodles and attached it to the page with washi tape. I later added  some lace tape too. The main journaling is underneath the doodles. I considered making the title bold too to balance the page, but decided I preferred the subtlety and fragility of this dry letter transfer since it goes with the theme of the journaling.

Now, what to do with the other page?

  1. Wow! This page is great! I love this technique and the color combination is so very eye-catching. You’re right about the title. It looks perfect being a little hidden or subdued.
