I am having so much fun in my art journal at the moment, playing and trying out new-to-me styles and techniques. Admittedly, it’s taking me a little bit longer to journal these days, because life with the little man is non-stop, but I love every moment I do get to spend on it. Here are a couple of art journal pages I made this week.

The first page was made using embroidery thread scraps, book pages, scrapbooking paper, Caran D’ache Neocolor II crayons, acrylics, stamps, stencils, rub ons, glamour dust, texture paste, plaster gauze, and various pens.

And when I needed to use up the dyed texture paste, the 2nd page was born…

I never meant for them to go together, I didn’t even realise they did until I was nearly finished with the second page, but I suppose if something is on your mind it’s bound to come out.

For this page I used Caran D’ache Neocolor II crayons, acrylics, texture paste, stamps, stencils, scapbooking paper, rub ons, a photo of the kids, and pen.

Here they are together in the journal:

And OH MY GOODNESS! On top of having so much fun in the art journal, I am having loads and loads of fun on the wild art course! I kind of feel like I’m going back to my roots, only I was far too serious back then to do whimsy. I have only done the first exercise so far, radishes, but my head is full of ideas I want to explore after watching Junelle’s videos for this week. So inspiring!

  1. These pages and artwork are stunning! I am in love with all that meaning and texture! You are living the dream, and so happy you are documenting it, xoxo

  2. Carin, these pages are beautiful!! Even if you don’t get to spend a lot of time with your journal, the time you have is well spent…these two pages are proof of that.

  3. hej Carin,
Så kreativ du är. Det konstnärliga ligger i släkten, jag gör många egna mönster och uttrycker mig genom mina stickor och virket. Vilka fantastiska bilder du gör. Härliga bilder på barnen i bloggen. Ha det bra. Kram Christel

  4. well my favourite bits are the new techniques, like embroidery thread! but mostly the fun you’re having, and how much inspiration your getting from that course. don’t you just love that!?

  5. Your pages are incredibly gorgeous Carin… love that you used embroidery thread scraps… wonderful texture… and looks like you are having a ball with the new workshop…
    Hugs
