Into the unknown

Into the Unknown art journal page

Around this time every year, I usually find myself open-mouthed with wonder how quickly the word of the year has started working its magic on my life. This year is no exception, but the very nature of the word (action), also makes it a bit scarier than most. There’s no hiding from a word like that. It’s massive learning curve and you just have to jump right into the thick of it, and immerse yourself in it.  I choose to keep my goals for 2013 private, but right now I feel like I have been more pro-active in January 2013 than I was in the whole of 2012! It’s exciting, and exhausting, and makes me tingly all over. What a wonderful adventure!

  1. Good for you! It’s good to jump in with both feet and get the year started right. I like the way you depicted it with the space ship and you as an astronaut…landing on some un-mapped planet.

  2. Love your art journal page Carin… so perfect for your wonderful word of 2013… can’t wait to see where this years journey takes you….

  3. What a wonderful page! So full of excitement and adventure. And how wonderful how your word is working for you already. I’ll have to start putting my word into action too, I’ve been too lazy, or unmotivated, so far. Hope you’ll reach all your goals for 2013, but it sounds like you won’t have a problem with that! 🙂

  4. I love your word and your journal page! I was just talking with a friend about her word for 2013: renew. Another one I like a lot.

Do you think it’s a bad thing that it’s January 22nd and I still don’t know what my word is? (Egad!) 🙂

  5. how cute! i love that you super-imposed your picture into the astronaut suit! so clever and fun.

  6. This art journal page is so fun. I love the visual image of you blasting off. And the thought of unknown. Sometimes I think it’s better that way, just going without knowing.
