It’s a boy!

Kirby William, our sweet baby boy, was born today at 10.45 am! He weighed in at 8 lbs/ 3.65 kilos and was 57 cm long.

Kirby is absolutely gorgeous and Alan, Aoife and I are totally smitten. I’ll come back and post some pictures as soon as I’m home and able to move around a bit (will take a few days). Sadly can’t upload photos to the blog from my mobile phone.

I lost quite a bit of blood during the section and have been under observation in the recovery room all day in case I needed a transfusion, but am doing quite well now. I’m finally allowed to eat and drink a little and hope to be moved to the ward in the next hour or so.

Thank you for all your support during the pregnancy and the many well wishes you’ve sent me in the last few days. I really appreciate them!

Lots of love from one happy mama, xo.
