Following on from my post last Tuesday on how to start journaling and be consistent, I thought I’d share 25 journal prompts especially for mums (but many can be used by others too). So settle down with your favourite drink, pick a prompt that speaks to you and write away.
Prompts:
1. 3 things you wish you had known as a new mother.
2. Who is your parenting role model and why?
3. What does me-time mean to you? How has it changed since you became a mum?
4. 5 things you wish your children knew about you.
5. Your scariest parenting moment so far.
6. Similarities between you and your children.
7. List what you love about each of your children.
8. What surprised you the most about being a mum?
9. How have your priorities changed since becoming a mum?
10. One thing you appreciate about every person in your family, including yourself.
11. How has your relationship with your partner changed since becoming a mum?
12. Who is your favourite TV mum and why?
13. what was the favourite meal your mum cooked you when you were little? Do you ever make it for your children?
14. If you have a pet, write about the bond between your children and your pet.
15. Are there stories behind your children’s names? Why did you choose them?
16. How has motherhood changed you?
17. What is your favourite time of day with your children? Why?
18. How has your view of your own mother changed since becoming a mother?
19. A quote you live by at this time in your life.
20. Things you never thought you’d say as a mother, but have.
21. Is there anything you miss from your life before being a mum?
22. Something you have learned from your children.
23. A thing you love about this time of your life.
24. Something that made you laugh today.
25. Dreams you have for your children.

These are great prompts! Even though my kids are grown, I would still love to journal many of these. It would be a lovely treasure for my kids when I’m gone.
